With 7 years of professional training experience, Alex has acquired practical skills working with all age groups ranging from 12 to 103 years of age. He views exercise as a form of medicine that should be dosed according to each client's individual needs and emphasizes sustainable practices over quick fix solutions. As a trainer, his top priority is to educate his clients on the wide array of strategies that can be implemented to achieve their personal fitness and health related goals.

Alex began his own personal fitness journey as a sophomore in college. Having led a sedentary lifestyle for the majority of his life, he decided it was time to make a change the day the scale hit 300 pounds. From that moment forward, he began his deep dive into the scientific literature pertaining to both exercise and nutrition. After one year of consistent strength training and pivotal changes to his dietary intake, he was able to successfully lose 80lbs and has kept that weight off for more than a decade.

Upon graduating from college, Alex took a job as a fitness specialist at Rappahannock Westminster Canterbury. During his tenure, he received the opportunity to train aging residents who suffered from a wide array of physical limitations. These limitations included chronic joint pain, impaired range of motion, sarcopenia, osteopenia and osteoporosis. By implementing properly dosed mobility and resistance training programs, he helped dozens of residents restore their quality of life.

Alex is beyond excited to join the Ghent Fit team and is looking forward to working with you.
